The RACE group invites proposals for sessions to be sponsored by us at the 2026 RGS-IBG Annual Conference. The conference will take place in London and online, from 1-4 September 2026.

The Chair’s theme for the 2026 is Geographies of Inequalities: Towards Just Places selected by the Chair of conference, Professor Peter Hopkins (University of Newcastle, UK).

The RACE group encourages innovative and inclusive formats and invites proposals for session sponsorship that engages with the conference theme, as well as other aspects of geographical work around race, culture, and ethnicity. 

To apply for RACE session sponsorship please send an abstract for your session to RACE Secretary Amber Murrey (amber.murrey-ndewa@ouce.ox.ac.uk). The abstract should tell us what the session is about, who is organising it and who will be involved.

The deadline to apply for session sponsorship is Friday 1 May 2026. 

Please note that full details of all papers must be finalised along with your session expression of interest form by the RGS-IBG’s overall submission deadline of Friday 26 May 2026. All submissions will be reviewed by the conference organising committee after submissions close.
