The RACE group invites proposals for sessions to be sponsored by us at the 2023 RGS-IBG Conference. The conference will take place in London and online, from the evening of Tuesday 29 August to Friday 1 September 2023
The Chair’s theme for the 2023 Annual International Conference is Climate changed geographies,https://www.rgs.org/research/annual-international-conference/chair-s-theme/ selected by the Chair of conference, Professor Harriet Bulkeley (Durham University, UK), in conversation with the Society’s Research Groups and with the Research and Higher Education Committee.
The RACE group encourages innovative and inclusive formats and invites proposals for session sponsorship that engages with the conference theme, as well as other aspects of geographical work around race, culture, and ethnicity.
Given that the RACE group’s concerns cut across several research groups, and with a view to putting the conference theme into action, do also keep in mind that co-sponsorship is possible. To apply for RACE session sponsorship please send the RACE Secretary James Esson (j.esson@lboro.ac.uk) an abstract for your session. The abstract should tell us what the session is about, who’s organising it and who will be involved.
The deadline to apply for session sponsorship is Friday 3rd March 2023. The RACE committee will review the applications and we will inform session organisers of decisions by Friday 10th March 2023.
Please note that full details of all papers must be finalised along with your session expression of interest form by the RGS-IBG’s overall submission deadline of Friday 17 March 2023. All submissions will be reviewed by the conference organising committee after submissions close on Friday 17 March.
