The Race Working Group is deeply concerned about the potential closure of the Black Cultural Archives (BCA), located on Windrush Square in Brixton. The BCA are a vital community space and resource, but are under threat due to cuts in government funding. The BCA are a nationally and internationally vital collection that serves to illustrate the diverse international histories, geographies and cultural identities of that have made and continue to make Black Britishness and British Identity, and support diasporic understanding of how people and places are made and remade.
